Interview Q & A

I interviewed my mentor Paige Pethel

1.)What is your name?

Paige Pethel

2.)What is your position?

I own the Bee's Knees Boutique

3.)How do you arrange the store?

People look to the left and shop to the right. The first 15 feet is dead space. In a store where the prices are higher the cash register should be in the back of the store and kind of hidden. The best place to hang stuff is eye-level. Men want to see a complete outfit put together, when women want to mix and match

Reflection: I can relate because when you walk in any store the front area by the doors never have any merchandise by them cause you're busy looking in front of you.

4.)How many displays do you have in your store?

we have 12

Reflection: your display should be spaced throughout your store and not be cluttered in one spot.

5.)How often do you change the displays?

Should be changed once a week

Reflection: The longest you should go not changing your display is a month. Changing displays draw people back into the store.

6.)How do you pick what goes on the displays?

Either what I have a lot of or my new items

Reflection: You don't want to  have something on your display that makes people come in and not have it in stock.

7.)What goes into making a good display?

The display should be eye-catching, neat, and not wrinkled

Reflection: I could see how these are important qualities to a display because people's eyes always go to the a good display, and a good display can make you go into a store

8.)What is a bad display?

Wrinkled, awkward, been up for a while, or not having the items in stock

Reflection: You hate going into a store because you see something on display and when you go in they don't have it. Plus when we see wrinkles we think dirty or unclean.

9.)What is your favorite way to display clothing items?

Dress forms

Reflection: This is the easiest way to show clothes cause you can put almost anything on it.

10.)What is your least favorite way to display?

Sometimes putting clothes on the mannequin is hard and looks awkward

Reflection: With the mannequins the hard part is the shoulders because that's where they connect to the torso so some tops dont look right.
